Your business registration identifier can usually be found on your official registration documents, tax filings, or government business portals. The exact location depends on the country where your company is registered.

Below are common places to locate it:

United States (EIN)

You can find your Employer Identification Number (EIN) on:

  • IRS EIN confirmation letter (Form CP 575)

  • Business tax returns

  • Payroll or accounting records

  • IRS Business Account portal

  • Bank documents used to open your business account

Canada (CBN)

Your Canadian Business Number (CBN) can be found on:

  • Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) correspondence

  • GST/HST registration documents

  • Payroll or corporate tax filings

  • CRA My Business Account

Note: A provincial corporation number (such as an OCN in Ontario) is not the same as the federal CRA Business Number. Instead, this would fall under the CCN code.
